Hardwood Floor... now here's the topic. Hardwood Floors are easy to maintain, beautiful, renewable and add ton of value to your home. And everybody loves them.
If you are lucky enough to have hardwood floors in your home, you are on your way to great potential profits. If those floors are in top shape, even better.
But let's be realistic, most times we can find a scratch here and there on most wood flooring. Then there are those floors that wait to be discovered, right underneath your tired wall-to-wall carpets.
Those can be refinished for an amazing results. I know, as soon as you think about refinishing your floors, you think dust and smell. Not anymore, there are new waterborne finishing products that do not release fumes. Few companies utilize dustless sanding machinery that reduces the residue dust by 85%-90%. Now that's great news for homeowners considering a quick listing of their home.
We can't forget those homeowners, whose homes came with... carpets, and underneath those carpets there is nothing else but plywood. What should they do? Is there a solutions for them?
Everyone knows that hardwood flooring can be very pricey. It may not be wise to invest a substantial amount of money to install hardwood floors just to bust the value of your home in order to sell it.
You should still consider installation though, just stick to the less expensive species and brand names of wood flooring. You see, any hardwood floor is far better then a dingy, outdated carpet.
If the overall look of your home leans toward county style you can get a great deal on rustic or tavern grade Pine flooring that would work with that style beautifully. If your style is modern, go for a lower grade Maple, for traditional style, Oak is your choice.
You may wonder why you would need to match the style of your decor to your own furniture, after all you will be moving out and taking that furniture with you.
You see, potential buyers prefer to visualize themselves in your home, but they also need to see the finished space. Total look of your home, will help them do just that. Your furniture "working" with your wood flooring will allow them to do just that.
So don't overlook the goldmine beneath your feet, refinish your hardwood floor, cash in on the rewards and give the potential buyers the home they just can't say "no" to.
