My personal Reasons for becaming a Realtor

Some Clients ask me what were my reasons for choosing this profession.

There were couple of important-reasons why I decided to take a leap of faith and follow my dream.

I was always fascinated with anything "home" related; I loved interior finishes and design, I could handle myself when time came to build our own home, I was always on the lookout for ways to satisfy the client's needs in my husband's hardwood flooring business.

Every time we sold one of our homes, I would get very involved in the process, even more, I found myself guiding and actively helping the Realtor to sell the house. Friends and family used to call me for advice "because I knew how to sell"...

Then, when we were selling yet again, our Agent disappointed me tremendously. All he did was submitted the MLS listing, and waited for someone to show up and buy our home. This was one of the lowest times of my life. Because of someone's incompetence I was forced to pay two mortgages for 6 months! We lost a lot then... times were tough. Reasons

I kept thinking: "This is not the way to do this! How can he call himself a Professional? How can he dare to accept my hard-earned-money for doing NOTHING! If only I could prove to him, that it can be done better!"

Since Client's satisfaction was always my number one priority, I thought about what kind of person I truly am, why do I have the set of values that I do?

What made ME strive to have the best reputation in my circles of friends and acquaintances? What was it that made ME demand that my kids ALWAYS keep their promises and never go back on a word once given?

The answers were simple... I got those values from my Parents.

I am the kind of person who enjoys other people's happiness.

There is only few professions where you can experience the joy of a new beginning.

Helping someone achieve their dream is the greatest joy there is.

The happiness and the pure light in their eyes, when those keys are in their hands... Priceless. I enjoy that so much!

Then, there was one other reason, perhaps the greatest one of all, why I ventured into the world of Real Estate Marketing...

They are growing fast and they too have dreams. In order to support those dreams, financial stability was needed.

You see, my older Son has a dream of competing at the Olympics one day... and anyone who has a skater in the family knows what kind of financial commitment we are talking about here.

He also wants to work with me as a Real Estate Professional one day... and that is making me very proud.

The younger Son has been talking about becoming a doctor since he was 2 years old!

He is now 14 and just starting to plan his high school and university future to one day become a dentist.

Last time I checked, the McMaster University still wasn't free...
