On Saturday, April 5th we will be able to once again visit the Magical World of Ice Spectacular at Barrie Molson Centre!Barrie community events We are all smiles, because 2008 Men's World Figure Skating Champion, Jeff Buttle will be skating at the Ice Spectacular!With the cast of over 300 skaters from Barrie Figure Skating Club together with Guest Skaters like 2008 Canadian Junior Dance Silver Medalists Karen Routhier and Eric Saucke-Lacelle, 2008 Canadian Novice Pair Bronze Medalists Maddison Bird and Raymond Schultz, and 2008 Mariposa National Team Members Baily Carroll and Peter Gerber, will participate in this 57th annual Ice Skating Show. Baily, 14 and Peter 16, practically grew up at the Barrie Skating Club over the last 7 years, under the watchful eyes of Greg and Judy Myles, Scott Chalmers, (their long time Dance Coach) and other wonderful people who live their lives at the Allandale rinks. This year's Show has been in the works for months now, and everyone from the Tiniest Tiny-Tot to the Oldest Senior Skater, can't wait for the bright lights to go on at Barrie Molson Centre. In the first half we will go on an adventure with the Transformers, we will mess the kitchen up with Rataouille, and take a peak at the Enchanted travels of a Princess. Then in the second half, there will be fun with Hairspray, High School Musical and of course the spectacular Dance number featuring Barrie's Mariposa School of Skating dance teams! Let`s not forget all the Soloists, who earned their right to perform at an event like this. Those talented kids received a Gold Medal at the Club Competition earlier this year! BRAVO! Joanna Gerber from HomeLife-Kempenfelt Kelly Realty Ltd. in Barrie, is proud to offer her support this year. For the last 7 years, a skating mother herself, and involved with the Shows' behind-the-scenes-action, Joanna knows how important it is for local Businesses to get involved in events such as this one. This year kids will have an opportunity to WIN a 8GB iPod Nano, or one of 6 Beautiful Gift Baskets. Parents will try their luck at a chance to win $10,000.00 from HomeLife Sweepstakes! All the raffle draw ticket proceeds will go to the Barrie Skating ClubBarrie Figure Skating Club offers an array of programs for kids of all ages and abilities. With Coaching Staff always ready to offer a big smile, all the kids feel at home at the Club. Watching your kids’ progress through the stages, achieving the goals that each set for themselves when they climb the competition podiums year after year; to see them grow into confident, graceful, powerful skaters is the greatest joy to any parent. Barrie Figure Skating Club is always happy to welcome new skaters! So come to the show, see what kids can do, and sign up your little one to join the fun! Tickets ($16.00 for adults and $8.00 kids 14 and under) are available at Ticket Master or at Box Office at the Barrie Molson Centre.
